Where CANCON Las Vegas Happens

Boulder Rifle & Pistol Club (BRPC) is an all-volunteer-run nonprofit shooting sports facility in Boulder City, Nevada, whose stated philosophy is simple: “Have fun while learning.” It’s a working club range that also opens its doors to the public through a dedicated Courtesy Range program, and it hosts 14+ distinct shooting disciplines — from precision long-range rifle to cowboy action, archery, and a full junior/youth program. It’s this working infrastructure — bays, berms, and a 1,000-yard range built for real competitive disciplines — that CANCON borrows for the weekend.

Governance is entirely member-driven: a five-officer Board of Directors and an Executive Board, with officers serving two-year terms.

History

1938 — Range originally built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Pre-1990s — Silhouette rifle range and open pistol area added.
Mid-1990s onward — Open pistol area converted into today’s Courtesy Range: 12 bays, shotgun stations, and dedicated training areas.
Recent years — Members-only range expanded to 11 shooting bays; silhouette range upgraded with steel targets from 100 out to 1,200 yards.
2010 — Road from Boulder City paved; club paved its main internal roads and improved parking.

BRPC is proud of running one of the few 1,000-yard shooting disciplines in the U.S.A. — a notable credential worth calling out for a national and international audience.
